Admission, Dismissal, and Completion Policies

Admission Requirements

We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, country of origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, physical disabilities, or mental disabilities.

  1. A complete application must be filled out
  2. Applicant must be 16 years or older
  3. Applicant must be able to read; wrtte speak and understand English
  4. Applicant must have a complete background, going back to birth. The Administrator of Operations will review the background check and determine if the applicant is eligible for admission.
    • Rape
    • Theft
    • Abuse of any king
    • Illegal drug possession
  5. Applicant must have a negative PPD or chest x-ray before acceptance into the program
  6. Applicant must pay aU class and textbooks fees before the first day or class

Grounds for Dismissal

Students can be dismissed from the Nurse Aid Training program for any of the beiow infractions:

  1. Makes unsatisfactory progress
  2. Neglects to do assignment work
  3. Displays behavior that is disruptive to the instructor and their classmates
  4. Is under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances
  5. Brings a weapon on or around school grounds
  6. Cheats or steals
  7. Abuses a classmate, instructor, staff member, or client
  8. Performs services for which they have not been trained and found proficient by the instructor
  9. Using foul or inappropriate language
  10. Poor attendance

Students will be given the opportunity to meet with the Program Coordinator to discuss any infractions of the dismissal policies. The Program Coordinator will review each case and make the final decision to dismiss (without a refund of tuition or fees) or to re-instate the student.

Completion Policies

Students must complete all the below requirements successfully to complete the Nurse Aid program:

  1. Pay all program fees in full
  2. Attend all hours
    • 40 hours in the classroom
    • 20 hours in the laboratory
    • 16 hours in the clinical facility
    • 1 hour clinical orientation
  3. Achieve a final grade of 75 or higher on the final examination and a grade of 85 or higher on each quiz
  4. Complete the skills checklist to the instructor's satisfaction
  5. Demonstrate competent communication and interaction on a one-to-one basis with each client
  6. Demonstrate sensitivity to each client's emotional, social and mental health needs through skillful, directed interactions
  7. Assist the client in attaining and maintaining independence
  8. Exhibit behavior In support and promotion of the client's rights
  9. Demonstrate observation and documentation skills needed in the assessment of the client's health. physical condition and well-being
STUDENT ABSENTEEISM MAKE UP TIME

  • Students that miss class time must make up this time at the training facilities convenience. All hours missed must be made up.
  • Students may be required to make up time missed in the next scheduled class if there is room available. Class size is limited so room in any given class may not be available.
  • Students may be required to pay for instructor time at _$25_ /hr if hours must be made up at a time other then a scheduled class time.
  • Students must make up class time within 30 days of completion of their scheduled class date. This may require a student to pay for instructor time.
  • Students not completing all hours within 30 days will forfeit all tuition paid and all time completed. The student will be required to retake the entire class and pay full tuition in order to graduate from the program

The instructor, with the assistance of the Program Coordinator, will determine if a student has met the above requirements.

Student Information

Before clinicals begin you must submit a TB test and background check. The TB test and background check is a federal requirement. Every training program is required to have these from each student. We must dismiss (without a refund) any student that does not submit the TB test and background check no later then the start of clinicals.

  1. Tuberculosis skin test or chest x-ray assessment result that confirms a negative status.
  2. Completed criminal background check, which is a mandatory requirement by federal statue for all enrolled students.

PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE STANDARDS

  1. A complete application must be filled out
  2. Applicant must be 16 years or older
  3. Applicant must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  4. Applicant must have a complete background check, going back to birth. The Administrator of Operations will review the background check and determine if the applicant is eligible for admission
    • Applicant will be ineligible if charged with any of the below offenses within the last eight (8) years:
      • Murder
      • Rape
      • Theft
      • Abuse of any kind" Illegal drug possession
  5. Applicant must have a negative PPD or chest x-ray before clinicals begin.

CLASS ATTENDENCE

Our regulatory agency closely monitors the hours of class attendance by students. The state DOES NOT make allowances for students that do not complete the required hours set forth by the state for S.T.N.A. training. Therefore, each student must agree to make up any hours missed no matter how small the amount of time that may be. The state is very very strict on class attendance. We have no ability to be flexible in this area. It is your responsibility to make all necessary arrangements and backup arrangements so that you can be in class and be there on time.

Payment Options for the 2 Week Accelerated Class

OPTION A: $300.00 Program Enrolhnent Cost l-Step Payment Plan: Payment in full required one business days prior to the start of the program to reserve a seat (depending on availability).Does not Includes textbook, DVD Skills series, student manual, scrubs, and a nametag. Does not include the OHIO NATCEP Exam Fee or the Criminal Background Check or T8 Test.

Student loan refund will be on loan application. Refund for 2 week class will be calculated using the percentages below

Enrollment Agreement

  1. The student may cancel this contract at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after signing the contract.
  2. All refunds will be made within thirty (30) days from the date of termination. The official date of termination or withdrawal of a student shall be determined in the below manner:
    • The date on which the school receives notice of the student's intention to discontinue the training program; or
    • The date on which the student violates published school policy, which provides fur termination; or
    • Should a student fail to return from an excused leave of absence, the effective date of termination for a student on an extended leave of absence or a leave of absence is the earliest date the school determines the student is not returning, or the day following the expected return date.
  3. The student will receive a full refund of tuition and fees paid if the school discontinues a course I program within a period of time a student could have reasonably completed it with one exception: the event that the school completely ceases operation.
  4. he policy for granting credit for previous training shall not impact the refund policy.

By signing below you are stating that you understand and agree to every requirement stated in the above application for admission to Nurse Aide Training Program. You also understand and agree to the Refund Policy and the Enrollment Agreement.
